Fossbúð The Waterfall Inn at Skogar

The hotel also operates a large restaurant nearby called the Waterfall Inn (Fossbúð). In the community center Fossbúð at Skogar, Hotel Skogar has opened a mini supermarket where you can buy the necessities you may need, as well a restaurant with a license to serve alcohol. There you can get homemade soup, salad, hamburgers, pizza, coffee, cakes, ice cream, sweets, soft drinks and other food items. The shop is intended as well for the locals where they can buy there milk and bread without having to drive long distances.

A place like this has been lacking in the area, especially since great amount of people spend the night in Skógar. It is estimated about 130.000 foreign travellers visit the popular site Skógarfoss every year and what is better than to get a nice meal while travelling around Iceland. There are also parties held here every year, including an annual Jazz Festival held in July.
Fossbuð also frequently caters food to the Myrdalsjökull glacier for groups that intend to go snowmobiling. If interested - please send requests about this to hotelskogar@hotelskogar.is. Group size minimum is 35 people.
