    Discover South Iceland
Glaciers - Volcanoes - Mountains - Waterfalls – Black Beach – Ocean Cliffs

    Activities : Glacier Tours

Iceland is famous for its glaciers. South Iceland has a total of 4 glaciers (Mýrdalsjökull, Langjökull, Eyjafjallajökull and Tindfjallajökull) with the Vatnajökull (Europe’s largest glacier) and Hofsjökull glaciers close by. Snowmobiling on glaciers is a once-in-a-lifetime experience which is becoming an increasingly popular sightseeing attraction. Travelers may choose between being a passenger or a driver. South Snowcat tours are also available top the top of Mount Hekla (once a glacier) during favourable conditions in the winter. Boat cruises among icebergs on the glacial lagoon Jökulsárlón by Vatnajökull are also available if one wants to take an extended day-trip a stonecast away from South Iceland.

We can now also offer ice-climbing as an exciting new and growing adventure to our guests (both groups and individuals) during most times of the year at Solheimsjökull - in cooperation with one of our working partners. Glacier touring involves a certain amount of risk thus travelers are encouraged to follow the instructions of their guides in every detail.
