Skógafoss –
Fimmvörduháls
Fimmvörðuháls is the area between the
glaciers Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. This is one of the most popular hiking
routes in Iceland. Despite being 22 kilometres long and involving 1,000 metres of
climbing. The route from Skógar is particularly beautiful, as numerous waterfalls
are passed along the way. The route is only accessible all the way to Þórsmörk
between mid-June and late-August as it is between two majestic glaciers..
